The Conference will address a range of coaching and management areas relevant to the Youth Athlete and within an Irish sporting context. These include the optimal workload of the youth athlete which is of special interest to coaches, teachers, medical personnel, administrators and parents.

LIT Sportslab, Thurles, Co. Tipperary

Through a combination of high-tech equipment and lecture staff expertise, the newly-launched €4 million facility is the most elite centre in Ireland for sports strength and conditioning, catering for 500 Setanta College and Limerick Institute of Technology students each year, from undergraduate to postgraduate level.

The new centre at the LIT Thurles campus is set to become an international centre of excellence in sports strength and conditioning. The facilities and the expertise in the Sportslab are used by domestic and international athletes from a variety of sports to help achieve optimum levels of strength and conditioning leading to optimal performance.
