Leitrim Sports Partnership December Challenge
The governments “Keep Well” campaign is aimed at showing people of all ages how we can mind our own physical and mental health and wellbeing by adding healthy and helpful habits to our daily and weekly routines. Now more than ever with working from home and less social interaction we need to motivate ourselves to keep active daily, this is about looking after yourself, it’s as simple as that.
One of the “Keep Well” campaign strands is to keep active, even during the winter, is important to help physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Leitrim Sports Partnership December challenge will help to keep you active during the Winter months.
Who can take part?
Everyone! The challenge is open to people of all ages and abilities.
How do you do it?
First of all set yourself a target to reach for the month of December. For example, walk, cycle or run 50k during the month of December, or complete 12 walks during the month of December. This target is individual to you so you choose what you hope to achieve during the month of December. Sign up to the challenge via our eventbrite link. Once you have completed the challenge we will be in contact with you and everyone who takes part will in with a chance to win some of our fantastic prizes. We have some sample challenges below;
· 50k – 1.6k a day
· 100k – 3.2k a day
· 150k – 4.8k a day
· 200k – 6.45k a day
· The 12 Walks of Christmas
OR 350,000 Steps for the 31 days = 11,000 steps a day
Remember these can be broken up into any distance per day/week for e.g. 25k a week over the 4 weeks = 100km Target
· Set a goal to be physically active 4/5 days per week.
· Pick one of our milestones to reach by the end of the month of December.
